“An Affair to Remember,” a tender duet featuring two of the most iconic voices in country music — Ray Price and Martina McBride, will hit country airwaves this fall fulfilling a four decade request from Ray’s wife Janie Price.

“For 43 and a half years I have brought this song to Ray every time he had a recording session,” enthused Janie. “I begged him to record this song. He never could hear what I heard in my head that he could do with it. I saw the movie as a kid and although it’s a tragedy, it turns out to be the most beautiful love story I have ever seen. Martina joining Ray made this song so beautiful!”

“Of all the things we get to do as artists, getting to sing with one of your heroes is at the top of the list,” says Grammy award-winning Martina McBride. “I was so honored to be asked by Ray to sing this beautiful song with him. He was one of the best voices of our time, not just in country music but in all genres.”

Penned by Harold Adamson, Harry Warren and Leo McCare, “An Affair to Remember” is the Oscar nominated theme song for the 1957 film starring Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr. The film currently ranks as one of the top five most romantic films of all time from the American Film Institute.

“Ray’s fans have obviously spoken,” says AmeriMonte Records President Steve Popovich, Jr. “The momentum we continue to generate with Beauty Is… has been very encouraging. The album has captured the essence of inspiration and professionalism at its finest. It’s one of those recordings that every country music fan of all ages should have in their collection. It’s understandable why he felt this was probably the best thing he had ever recorded.”

Radio programmers will find the song on the July 21st CDX and on PlayMpe.

About Ray Price

This past December, the music industry mourned the loss of Price. During his lifetime, he pioneered a shuffling, rhythmic, honky-tonk sound, experimented with the Nashville Sound, sold millions of records and earned top-shelf accolades, including many prestigious Country Music Association, Academy Of Country Music and Grammy awards.

In late 2012, Price revealed to the public that he was battling pancreatic cancer. Meanwhile, convinced that he still had one more solid album to offer, Price enlisted Grammy winning producer and friend, Fred Foster, to helm the new project. During his last months, Price and Foster worked intensely to complete this swan song, which features 12 brand new recordings including collaborations with Vince Gill and Martina McBride. Available at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store ®, Hastings, Ernest Tubb Record Shop, Walmart and online retailers, Beauty Is…the final sessions has received rave reviews and supports the fact that this is the perfect coda to the crooner’s career. The project has been featured in the following outlets: USA Today, Associated Press, NPR, ABCNews, Huffington Post, Good Morning America, MSN, Yahoo, Rolling Stone, Billboard, Washington Post, Washington Times, Miami Herald, St. Louis Post Dispatch, Tennessean, Dallas Morning News, The Austin Chronicle, Country Weekly, Kansas City Star, Digital Journal, The Boot, CMA World, Country Aircheck, Music Row, etc.

Upon its release in April, the album broke a 32 year record for Ray when it debuted in the Top 25 on the “Billboard Country Albums Chart.” It earned monumental success on iTunes and would climb into the #1 position on Amazon.com. It also reigned as the top selling record at Ernest Tubb Record Shops in Nashville for more than a month after its release.
