Crazy. Hunter Hayes wants it. Joanna Smith is it. It’s definitely a crazy time for Country Music, with Kenny Chesney, Lady Antebellum, and the Pistol Annies all coming out with new material. CDX 569 is full of hot new tracks, with Scotty McCreery winning our “Hit Of The Disc” distinction, and a new artist we are excited about that just might be the one to help usher in a new wave of traditional sounds as our “Hidden Jewel.” Enjoy!
See You Tonight – We really love the flow of this record. It seems made for backroad trips with the window rolled down. A song doesn’t always have to be one to make a huge social or political statement. It just needs to sound good, and this one does.
Girls Are Crazy – Joanna Smith shows her “Loretta” side with this upbeat tune that details that women are in a class all their own. (For that, we are greatful!)
I Want Crazy – Several people have said that Hunter Hayes qualifies as a younger Keith Urban. Take a listen to this energetic record, and we think you’ll agree. The instrumentation. The vocals. The harmony. Hunter, we mean that strictly as a compliment.
Parking Lot Party – This song has the perfect groove for the summer months, and should lend itself to have everyone sing back….loud!
And, the hidden jewel of CDX 569 is Jason Plummer’s “Gone.” We applaud Plummer for releasing a record that showcases his natural hillbilly twang. In a week where we have just lost one of the greatest singers ever in George Jones, we need more who love the traditional sound. You need a healthy mix, but we think Plummer just might be the one to watch!
