And, spring has sprung here in Nashville. The temperatures are starting to warm up – almost as much as the great new music that is coming across your desk…..Let’s take a look at CDX 591. After all, it’s “Where The Hits Are!”
Our “Jewel” of 591 belongs to Kacey Musgraves, who continues to dazzle us with each new release. Her fourth single from Same Trailer Different Park, “Keep It To Yourself,” might be her best yet. It’s about a relationship that needs to stay in the past – although both parties are having second thoughts. Her vocal is warm and enchanting, and all this cut needs is to be heard…OFTEN!
Other top moments on CDX 591 include….
“Shining Now” from Rachel Holder. The East Tennessee native has such a fun spirit, and such a deep talent. Her latest single showcases both better than ever. If you have yet to play a Holder single, let this be your first! Your listeners will be glad you did…
“Seventeen Again” from Ashton Shepherd. Who can’t identify with this piece of music about how life might go a little quicker than we would like – but sometimes, it’s ok to hold on to the memories and bathe in them just a little. The chorus hammers this one out of the ballpark!
And, in our “Hidden Gem” section this week, we are proud to showcase three new cuts from the final project from the late Ray Price. Recording his final album at 87, his voice possessed such a timbre and such a power that outshined artists a quarter of his age. So, pay tribute to this great voice with “Beauty Lies In the Eye Of The Beholder,” “I Wish I Was 18 Again,” and “That Thing Of Ours,” and promote the heck of the fact that Ray’s final album, “Beauty Is…,” is in stores on April 15. It’s history, folks, and will never get that good again!
