And, one of the most successful careers in the history of Country Music returns on CDX 604. Simply put, who doesn’t love Trisha Yearwood? Since her 1991 debut, “She’s In Love With The Boy,” the Georgia native has given us some of the best musical moments of the past quarter-century. (My personal favorite – Have you ever heard “Nothin’ Bout Memphis?” If not, research it. NOW!) So, it goes without saying that a new single from Trisha Yearwood would be an automatic lock for Jewel of CDX 604, right? Well, you’d be right. This industry needs Trisha Yearwood, much the same way we need her husband recording new music….But, that’s the next CDX…One at a time, right! The front runners of Volume 604 are…..

As, stated, we have to hand the “Jewel” prize to Trisha Yearwood for her inspirational “Prizefighter.” It took a few listens to grow on me, but at the end of the day, there is no denying that voice – which is in a league all her own. And, the lyrics are an inspirational lot from start to finish. A gem.

Other top moments on 604 include…..

“Lay Low” / Josh Turner – You know, it’s no coincidence that Josh Turner has recorded several songs from the Don Williams catalog. After all, that’s one good well. This one isn’t from the “Gentle Giant,” but if he were releasing singles to radio today, I think he’d approve. Laid back, sentimental, and romantic. Josh continues to roll aces time in and time out!

“Say You Do” / Dierks Bentley – After recording for well over a decade, Bentley is recording some of the best music of his career – and this might be the best single off of Riser yet – and that’s saying something!

And, the “Hidden Gem” of CDX 604 belongs to talented newcomer Mike Ryan for his soaring “Dancing All Around It,” which scores with a nice vocal performance as well as a driving production that showcases his style to the max. I don’t think it will be the last we hear from him!

You know, I hear there’s a new single from that Brooks guy on the next CDX…..Stay Tuned!
