Patty Loveless had a successful run on MCA from 1985-1991, but it was her run on Epic Records that made her one of the format’s most influential female vocalists of all time. Her very first single for the label hit radio twenty years ago this month, and many programmers enjoyed trying to quote the somewhat wordy chorus that was co-written by the legendary Harlan Howard. For the record, it’s “Blame it on your,” or if you can’t say all that, “Blame It On Your Heart” will work just fine, from CDX 52.
