Uh-oh. According to my calendar, today is October 28. That means there are less than two months until Christmas. I knew there was a reason I was having withdrawals for Hickory Farms and Kenny & Dolly’s Once Upon A Christmas. With that said, CDX 582 takes on a definite Yuletide slant, but there are a few non-holiday tracks that definitely merit your attention. Let’s take a look!

The ‘Jewel’ of Disc 582 belongs to a lady who will no doubt be topping many of the year end lists that writers will be putting together over the next few weeks – Kacey Musgraves. What a year it has been for the Texas native, who releases her third single, “Follow Your Arrow.” It’s a gutsy move for the singer, but once again it shows that she is an artist who doesn’t stand in the middle of the pack – a la Loretta Lynn, one of her biggest influences!

But, there’s more to CDX 582 than Musgraves….A deeper glance….

“Drink To That All Night” / Jerrod Niemann – The Arista recording artist is releasing music that sounds like nobody else out there today. The chorus has a definite sing-a-long quality that should send this one flying up the charts.

“I Got A Car” / George Strait – I could say it’s George Strait, and leave it at that. But, I will digress a little. It’s a simple lyric, but that is the quickest way between two lines, right? Could number one # 61 be around the corner?

The “Hidden Gem” of CDX 582 belongs to Hannah Bethel. The Michigan native releases “Medicine,” a quirky little number that should very well gain her some career traction!

Taking a look at the Christmas singles on the disc, while all are great ways to get a jump start to the season, take a listen to Teea Goans’ “Christmas Time Is Here.” Wow is all we can say!
