Dolly Parton held a press conference this morning in Nashville, Tennessee, planning to make several announcements to the room full of media. Included in those announcements was news of a North American Tour and a forthcoming double-disc album set.

Dolly shared that the North American tour will make stops in the United States and Canada beginning in June, marking the first time the iconic country music star has toured Canada in twenty-five years. The set list for the tour will include Dolly’s hits (“I said ‘hits’!”, the legend joked), scaled down a bit, as well as about three new songs from a future release.

The upcoming album will be a two-disc set, half of which will be comprised of her classic tunes like “I Will Always Love You”, “Jolene”, “9 to 5” and more, while the other half will be twelve brand new, original tracks.

Also in Dolly’s near future will be some upgrades to Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Among those improvements will be the addition of a wooden roller coaster, Lightning Rod, that will be the fastest wooden coaster, hitting speeds of seventy-three miles per hour. The singer-songwriter-actress-entrepreneur anticipates $300 million will be invested in the amusement park in the short-term.

Lastly, Dolly announced that The Coat of Many Colors will be released on DVD on May 3rd, with certain songs from the movie’s soundtrack also making their way to her tour set list.
