Music Industry veteran, Rusty Harmon, and well versed industry entrepreneur, Sunni Ray, have joined forces to create Nashville’s newest management firm,HARMON Music Management. HMM has inked contracts with Nashville’s hottest new trio, STELLA // JAMES, Americana singer/songwriter, Jeanne Jolly, recent Madison Square Garden National Anthem performer and soulful songstress, Laura Reed, and the talented Maryland natives/country rock duo, Chesapeake Sons. Harmon recognizes the importance of adding publishing to the firm stating, “During my 10 years in the Nashville community I have worked with some of the most talented songwriters in the world. With the continuously evolving industry, we feel the addition of a publishing division will strengthen our management team.”
A native of North Carolina, Rusty Harmon, began his career in the music industry 26 years ago managing Hootie & the Blowfish. The group had astounding success in its nearly 12 years under Harmon’s management tenure. The band sold more than 25 million records worldwide, two number one albums, two Grammy Awards and the coveted Artist of the Year awards from Billboard, World Music and Pollstar. Harmon has successfully mounted campaigns for a wide variety of clients, including Billboard chart toppers Colt Ford and Jason Michael Carroll. Under his direction, his clients have secured multiple label and publishing deals. Rusty has served as the President of Atlantic Records imprint label, Breaking Records, and the President of Management for Average Joe’s Entertainment. High profile endorsement deals he has negotiated include companies such as Budweiser, ESPN, Disney, Nike, Adidas, Taylor Guitars, Gibson and more, resulting in over 15 million dollars in sponsorship sales.
Hailing from Annapolis, Maryland, Sunni Ray began her career as the Social Media Specialist for the globally renowned health and fitness industry-marketing icon, Beachbody. Ray received national accolades for excellence in online communication and customer service. Sunni decided to combine her extensive business, customer service and social media experience with her true passion for music and entertainment. This new found path lead her to Los Angeles, CA where she was mentored in the offices of both Red Light Management and GreenLight Media/Marketing. Ray has since added graphic design, booking management and now Senior Vice President of Artist Relations for HARMON Music Management to her credentials.
