Football is here. Is it really August? Wow. I guess it is. We talk about how quickly the year is passing every two weeks, it seems. But one of my friends mentioned to me the other day there were four months until Christmas…..FOUR MONTHS? Wow. In any case, summer is about to drift into the history books and make way for the changing leaves and temperatures of Autumn. Well, before it does, let’s sink our teeth into the newest from Nashville, CDX 601……
The “Jewel” of Volume 601 belongs to a pair of gentleman who are no stranger to the top of the charts – T. Graham Brown and Vince Gill, for their stunning new collaboration, “He’ll Take Care Of You.” It’s soulful and poetic, and gives us all a little bit of hope.

“You Can’t Hide High” / Clinton Gregory with Ira Dean – Going back to my days of being behind the microphone, I’ve got to say that Clinton Gregory has always been one of my favorite performers that has flown under the radar. For his latest single, he pairs up with Trick Pony’s Ira Dean for a song that is all too true….
“Here’s To The Ones” / The Rhett Walker Band – A really cool track with a vocal that you will definitely remember. Give it a shot.
“Whole Lot Of Livin” / North 40 – The harmonies are airtight, and the melody bounces along. These ladies are rock stars. But, they need to stop trying to convince people they are over 40…..There’s no way!
“Your Memory Wins’ / Mike Aiken – Aiken channels a lonesome vibe on his current single that all of us can idenitfy with at one time or another…..
And, the “Hidden Gem” of CDX 601 belongs to a lady who is just that, Teea Goans. A former radio personality on WSM-AM (You’ve heard of that station, haven’t you?), Goans scores on a pure country rendition of the Brenda Lee chestnut “Nobody Wins.” If you want to hear the real thing, give this one a listen. Country Music needs Teea Goans, though to quote Larry Gatlin, “The girl is awful homely.” Well, Texans do like to exaggerate a little. Goans is the real deal!
