Rising Country duo, Makenna & Brock, have strengthened their team with the addition of esteemed Nashville producer, Bill McDermott. McDermott has an impressive resume in the business and has worked with many legendary artists, including George Strait, Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley and many others. McDermott joins the duo’s growing team of Music Row veterans, which includes music attorney, Orville Almon and artist manager, Clif Doyal.


“Bill has an amazing ability to take something that isn’t working at all, make a few changes, and mold it into something we absolutely love,” says Sullinger. Wade adds: “We love Bill’s positive energy in the studio. He is very focused and driven, but at the same time has a great sense of humor and makes being in the studio easy and fun.”


The duo was in Nashville recently between tour dates to begin work with McDermott and their creative team on their forthcoming project. While in Music City, Makenna & Brock met with several top song publishers and pitch groups and spent time in the studio with McDermott fine tuning some of their own original songs. In a show of support from their hometown of Springfield, MO, Makenna & Brock were featured with daily interviews on the morning show of 94.7 Today’s KTTS FM, recent ACM winner for “Small Market Station of the Year,” who kept hometown supporters abreast of the duo’s activities while in Nashville.


Makenna & Brock have been enjoying success for their debut single, “Burnin’ The Night Down,” which is currently gaining traction at radio stations across America. Along with their busy touring schedule which has the duo and their band performing from Iowa to Florida, Makenna & Brock split their time between their home bases of Springfield, Missouri and Nashville.


Makenna & Brock first captured the hearts of millions of viewers and all four judges as Top-12 finalists on the hit television show, The X-Factor in 2011. Their show-stopping performance garnered critical acclaim from the esteemed judging panel, which included Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, Cheryl Cole, and L.A. Reid, Chairman/CEO of Island Def Jam Music Group. Subsequently, Makenna & Brock received exposure in major publications such as People, the Washington Post,Rolling Stone, and many prominent websites, including CNN.com, CBS.com, and MTV.com.

Missouri-born Makenna Sullinger and Brock Wade first met in 2007 while performing at a Children’s Miracle Network benefit show. The duo would eventually become great friends and a couple – both on and off stage. In 2009, they toured throughout the United States, sharing bills with acts such as Sheryl Crow, James Otto, Uncle Kracker.  Makenna & Brock notched one of their first big breaks in 2011, when they were selected as Top-12 finalists on the American version of Simon Cowell’s hit television show The X-Factor. This exposure garnered coverage for the duo in Rolling Stone,  the Washington Post, People magazine, CNN.com, MTV.com, and other media outlets.
